About Gurukul Dharma

What We Are

Gurukul Dharma is a structured learning platform for Sanatan Dharma — the living tradition of Hindu philosophy, science, art, and practice. We cover 14 Kalas (knowledge disciplines) across 4 Yugas, with 248 interactive missions, 66 simulations, primary source readings, Sanskrit lessons, and AI-guided Vaada (debate).

This is not a course. It is a digital Gurukul — complete with an Upanayana (initiation), daily Svadhyaya (self-study), a Guru who remembers you, and Dakshina after graduation. Traditional pedagogical principles, digitally embodied.

Our Pedagogy

We follow 10 principles drawn from the Gurukul tradition:

• Guru-Shishya Parampara — a personalized AI Guru that adapts to each student
• Shruti-Manana-Nididhyasana — receive, reflect, then practice
• Vaada — structured debate with side-switching for deeper understanding
• Adhikara — mastery-based progression, not time-based
• Svadhyaya — daily practice as a non-negotiable discipline
• Pariksha — dialogue-based assessment, not just multiple choice
• Samanvaya — cross-disciplinary connections between Kalas
• Parampara — lineage tracing from Vedic rishis to modern scholars
• Upanayana — a sacred initiation ceremony to begin the journey
• Dakshina — gratitude and giving back after receiving knowledge

Content Standards

Every piece of content meets these standards:

• All shlokas, verses, and quotes are real, correctly attributed, and sourced
• Contested topics present multiple Sampradaya perspectives without favoring one
• Primary sources cited from original texts (Vedas, Upanishads, Arthashastra, etc.)
• Historical claims are qualified — Puranic narratives distinguished from archaeological evidence
• Temple photographs are real (not AI-generated for sacred spaces)
• Sacred text is sourced from established editions and attributed to chapter and verse

Gurukul Dharma is built by a team of engineers, educators, and Sanskrit scholars who believe that the Gurukul tradition contains a complete pedagogical system — one that modern technology can finally embody at scale.

Our approach is measurement-embedded learning: the act of learning is inseparable from the act of assessment. Students are never just consuming content — they are always demonstrating understanding through dialogue, debate, and practice.
